Just a shot post!

I know I haven't been updating much, I've been so busy with school lately but my winter holidays is next week! I'm excited over nothing because I don't have any plans. But I'm quite sure I will be posting much more than I used to.

Anyways, this is a quickie ~
My brother arrived from Philippines yesterday. ^-^
I'm so happy!!
I can finally get my hands on the DSLR. How long has it been since I last touched it?

Oh, and not to forget to mention ~
Trix gave me presents and they're SO lovely! I guess these were for my birthday.

(via Facebook)

And I'm glad too, for his friends that they get to see him again after so long.

Last day of school ~

Today is the last day of school!
The Hajj holiday has officially started ~ ^-^

I'm going to spend it by watching anime and reading manga. I don't really have any plans.
Oh, do I have to mention I did really great in my Math assessment? I expect full marks.

Oh, and since the holiday started, some of my classmates gave me stuffs and there were plenty of hugs and kisses. Hah.

This chewing gum was given by Sundus. I really like her, but I become really hesitant whenever I try to approach her. I really don't know, it's just this strange atmosphere which makes me really, really, really nervous!
According to her, it's Pakistani Ding Dong. Hilarious. I used to buy LOADS of these when I was young. Nostalgiaaaa ~

And here's another one which made me the happiest of all. It's so amazing! I just cannot control my emotions. As you can see, according to my Facebook reaction.

I hope you understand how happy I actually am.
By the way, here's what she drew.

Isn't it AMAZING?!
You guys should check her DeviantArt account. Her works are amazing! I guarantee you'll love them. ALL OF THEM.
I really, really, really hope you guys can check out her works. You'll fall in love instantly! I just cannot put it into words. She's a very talented person. VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY talented person. I have always loved her. I never really told her this but keep it a secret, okay?

PS: I do apologize for the quality of the photos. Please bear with me until I purchase one soon. ^^;;;;

Paintings.

I forgot to mention on the previous blog post about the day before yesterday ~
I spent almost half of my money on art crafts. I bought fabric paints, paints, markers, pens, lots of brushes glitter glues, and lots of sketch books.

I painted 2 pictures yesterday, just going a little crazy with my imagination.

The castle ruined everything, didn't it?
Maybe I shouldn't have painted it. I think it's an ugly painting so I decided to give it away, I gave it away to Sid. I bought it to school the next day and she insisted on having it ~ so, I happily gave it to her.

And here's another one ~
I pinned it on my board. I think I should try painting it again, it's not even. And I should do the bisexual pride flag too. ^-^
My mom, not knowing about the gay pride flag, asked me, "Why didn't you paint a rainbow? Is this a rainbow? Why are these lines? Paint a rainbow."
It was funny. At least to me.

Here's the mess.
You haven't seen the first mess I made when I painted that crappy castle. This is uhh, the second mess, I should say. A neater mess than the first.

I'm no good in art but it's my major interest. At least I'm excellent in crafting. *proud*

PS: I do apologize for the quality of the photos. Please bear with me until I purchase one soon. ^^;;;

Chopsticks which made my day.

My parents got back from Lulu and bought me chopsticks!
I really, really liked them ~ ~
They bought me 3 packs, each of them has 10 pairs of chopsticks.

They're pretty, right?

Here's a closer look.

In case anyone of you is wondering, it's by Xinguang.
Yes, a Chinese company. :)

And its quality is amazing! Thick and quite heavy. I think I will go with my parents to buy some more. They're only for SR 9! (each pack)
So that's about $2.4. Since my parents bought 3 packs, it's SR 27 which is $7.2 ~
I dunno, I just felt like doing the Math since I've got an assessment tomorrow. Warming up a little, haaaaaah.
By the way, I don't know if you can find it there or online.

PS: I do apologize for the quality of the photos. Please bear with me until I purchase one soon. ^^;;;

Blogger for Andriod.

I just found out there's a Blogger application for Andriod! My, my, I'm so slow.
So, here's my first mobile post, haha. :)

Here's a random photo from my phone.

October post and other stuff.

So it's October! I'm sorry I haven't updated much. It's because of school. So, this is my first October post.
Events I had going on on October so far were:

An English seminar held at the Thai Embassy.
It was not my level at all. Beginner's, I should say. It was fun to attend though. It was for 7 hours. I don't think the seminar was supposed to be that long. It was said that it will only take 1 - 4 hours.
And he's given us homework. Easy ~ I decide to procrastinate because the next seminar will be on the first week of November. I will be attending every Thursday for 3 weeks, that means only 3 classes to go. Noo ~
Here's the book we use.

Trix's Birthday.
Yesterday was Trix's birthday! I can't believe I forgot. I should say, I'm kinda ashamed. I mean, I wouldn't have knowing if Facebook didn't tell me, you know? So, happy 17th Birthday, Trixia Rodriguez! :)
I'll bake her a lovely cake when I go back to Philippines. And I might buy a gift later on.

Michelle's Birthday.
Bem Bem invited me to her house to celebrate this lovely girl's birthday. So many birthdays on October! ^-^
Michelle's birthdaaay. Her mom was my P.E teacher way back in grade 3 - 5. We're really close family friends. Aw, family. :')
When it was time to go back home, Bem Bem's mom gave me stuffs. A LOT of stuffs. I literally mean a lot.

6 chocolates.

7 of each of these.
I actually mean, 7 of those red biscuits, 7 of the brown and 7 of the yellow. That makes 21!

2 of these.

2 of these.

And what I actually liked the most out of all is this! It's pink and sweet and AHH! So lovely! It's too pretty to eat. T^T
And it tastes magnificent!

It's been a great start of the month!
PS: I do apologize for the quality of the photos. Please bear with me until I purchase one soon. ^^;;;

Pastry Puffsss / Puff Pastries ~ ♥

This is really simple and EXTREMELY easy to make. All what you need is practice and patience, I think.
I, myself do make common mistakes here. I try to correct myself but I still need more time and practice since my hands are too stubborn to listen. Here, I'm going to point them out and try to correct you in advance so you don't end up in a mess like me ~

Anyways, here's what you need and what you need to do.

The most important part of this recipe is the puff pastry.
You can make your own or buy them. I don't know how to make them, so my only choice is by buying them. Obviously.

You need triangular cheese too.
You see how lovely I put them together? ^-^v
You can not only use cheese but many other fillings to. Nutella for example! Yum ~ ~ ~ If you're thinking about using jam, I'd not recommend it because you're going to bake it and jam is quite liquid-like so it's going to melt all over the pastry and it will become gooey, wet and just ... a big no-no. I'd say, choose a filling with a  thick texture. Example? Nutella! or cheese!

Alright!
Here's the fun part for me ~
I only know how to make two styles here.
Most steps are illustrated with photos, so if you don't understand any steps or my explanations doesn't make any sense, at least the photos will explain itself to you.

Here's the first style which is the easiest.

  •  Remove one square of the pastry puff from the packet.

  •  Cut it in 2 triangles. (Like in a sandwich)

  • Take one triangle facing the base to you, slice the triangular cheese into a rectangular shape and place it in the pastry shown in the image below. Do not put the cheese in the very edge of the base. Estimation of space is essential because closing the pastry might become difficult if not estimated.

  • Take the two sides and place them in between the pastry.

  • Then pinch base into the cheese, and roll it until it looks like a spring roll. It's procedure is quite similar is you noticed. :)

  • Lastly, turn the pastry downwards facing up so you pin down that tiny pastry.

This is the second style ~

  • Firstly, take a square pastry from the packet.

  • Cut it into 4 equal squares. I'm not good at cutting so forgive me this time.

  • Take one square, slice the cheese and place it in between.

  • I really don't know how to explain this part but I'll try my best. Imagine two 90° degrees making the square. Take the opposites and pinch them together, then you do the same with the remaining opposites. This give it its flower-ish design. ^-^
I do hope this makes as much sense as how the images illustrate it.

I changed their positioning here so please do no get confused. I do apologize too.

And you're done! ^-^
All what you have to do is do the same to the remaining pastries then put it in the oven. I do not know the temperature I use because of .. personal problems, yeah. BUT please do experiment a bit and inform me about the temperature, I'd love to know.

This is my baking pan when I'm done. You can see my flaws right there, me too.
You may have noticed that I used the second style more, it's because you can make 4 pieces from one pastry puff. The first style can make only 2. And talking about the number of guests I have to serve, I picked the second style.

I used egg yolk to glaze the pastry. ^-^
Now this is ready to go in the oven! Yay ~ ~ ~

And this is it when it's taken out of the oven.
Remember to not put thick egg yolks to glaze, it will burn quickly. Notice the centre that's darker than the others.

To me, they're supposed to be closed before and after baking. So, they're like flower buds.
They look like Nikuman to me, actually.

But some did open up or swell like these.
I really don't like it when they open but my mom told me to think positive and imagine they were flowers that grew. It's not a bad idea though.
So, if yours turn out to be closed, then closed pastry means flower buds and if it turns out to be opened, then opened ones are flowers. :D

  • Let it cool completely. When it's cool, drizzle condense milk over them and you're done!!! ^-^
    See? Wasn't that SO easy?
I do hope you try out this simple and fun recipe. I'd love to get feedback and comments! ^-^

Plans.

I just got out of the shower. I'm writing this new blog post in my PJ's and listening to Green Day's new album so far; ¡Uno! I feel really comfortable right now but something's missing ~ cuddling. Yep.

Anyways, to the point! My birthday will be celebrated tomorrow though my birthday was yesterday, yay! I'm quite excited yet anxious at the same time.
I'm wondering what I shall wear tomorrow. Band t-shirt and jeans or something .. . eye catching?

Oh, almost forgot to mention; my parents got back home after I got out of the shower. They were grocery shopping.
She bought me jelly and custard pudding. Why? I don't know why. 2 sachets of jelly isn't enough to feed the number of guests in my invitation list and to top it off, only ONE sachet of custard pudding? Haha.................
My mom told me that I had to bake my own cake so she bought me a cake mix. I really wanted vanilla or coconut cake but I guess there's no choice to it. And it made me wonder, why did my mom have to buy a cake mix? I can bake a cake myself without the help of cake mix. I really do have a lot of baking pride in me, I swear. ^-^v

Oh, and baking my own cake also means decorating my own cake, right? So yeah, GREEN SPRINKLES FOR THE WIN!
I do have a few decorations for the cake too but I really think green sprinkles on a chocolate cake looks quite .. unique, doesn't it?
Yay for green sprinkles.
It will look fabulous tomorrow, I just know it ~ ^-^

My parents also bought me a sack of pineapple candy. I felt this joy in my heart because pineapple, that's why. I like like pineapple, a lot.

I have to make this little side-dish of mine; Mini-croissants right after drying my hair. ^^ It's so fun! They're so little, and tiny, and so cute! Kyaa ~  ♥ ♥ ♥
I'll post a recipe/tutorial as soon as I can, so get excited! :)

Alright! I shall dry my hair now.
Stay tuned! ^^
